What to put on your website: GDPR and terms

How to inform your customers about personal data processing and cookies when using Yasan.

Updated:

When you use Yasan on your store, you are the data controller for your customers’ personal data. Yasan acts as a data processor — it processes data on your behalf and only for the purposes you define.

Your customers should know that you use Yasan. The most common approach is to add a section about personal data protection to your terms of service or privacy policy on your website.

Text for your terms or privacy policy#

Below is wording you can copy and paste into your terms of service or privacy policy. Before publishing, adjust it to match the style and structure of your website.

On your store website, Yasan uses cookie-like storage for what is necessary to provide customer support — for example, to run the chatbot and keep conversation context. This falls under the necessary category and requires no consent.

In addition, the chat widget can collect conversation analytics — but only after the visitor grants consent for analytics cookies. Until then, it sends only anonymous, non-identifying usage statistics. For this reason, add the Yasan chat widget to your website’s cookie banner under the analytics (statistics) category and connect your consent tool as described below.

A detailed step-by-step guide — including ready-made examples for Cookiebot, CookieYes, and OneTrust — is in Setting up cookie consent.
